1795 Ten Dollar Gold AU-58 NGC This months coin of the month is a 1795 $10 Gold, Draped Bust, Small Eagle, with 13 Leaves on the branch, in AU-58 NGC condition. On September 22nd 1795 the US Mint began striking $10 Gold Eagles for the first time in our nations history. This was one of the Eagles struck that year giving it particular collector significance and popularity. Just 5,583 were coined that year with only a small hand full surviving at this specimens nearly uncirculated quality level. The strike is full and even and there are no flaws out of the ordinary for the assigned grade level. Currently offered at $95,000.00 |
